It's only practical if you really like your current keyboard and don't have the funds to replace it with a new model-a new soldering iron and switch will cost almost as much as a cheap mechanical keyboard on its own, and that's assuming you don't break your keyboard further during the disassembly process. You can refer the link below for more information. Click/tap on Keyboard on the left side Under On-Screen Keyboard on the right side, move the slider to the right to turn it Off. Click on Change PC Settings, click on Ease of Access on the left side. This is a long, involved process that will be different for each keyboard. Press Windows Key + C Key, click on Settings. (If you’ve got the Jetson Sphere Hoverboard, you’ll have to hold it for 15 seconds. Obviously this is only an option if you know how to solder electronics, and you'll also need to track down a replacement switch, ideally from the same manufacturer and series as your keyboard already uses. Hold the power button down for three to five seconds. To do so you'll need to disassemble your keyboard entirely, de-solder the switch from the PCB, remove it from the plate (if applicable), replace it with a new switch, and solder the new switch in place. Hope this helps. The most drastic option, if the above doesn't work or if you have plate-mounted switches, is to completely remove the broken switch and replace it with a new one. One, on once occasion, the native keyboard and trackpad again stopped responding even when the wireless keyboard+mouse were connected. Well, when I connected a wireless keyboard+mouse and started the computer, not only did the wireless keyboard+mouse work, but the native keyboard and trackpad worked too! So this makes me suspect that it is a software, rather than a hardware issue… But how could it be a software issue when I haven’t performed any OS update in a long time?Īnyway, here are two more additional pieces of info in case its helpful. Of late, on restarting, the computer would complain that it couldn’t detect any keyboard/mouse and start looking for a wireless one. 4-5 times out of 10, a restart would fix it. I have this strange issue where the soft keyboard keeps popping up and hiding out in my application. However, if you find that the on-screen keyboard appears at the login screen when you don't want it to, you may need to take further steps to disable. I have also tried doing this in safe mode but this does not seem to make a difference. If you're just using the on-screen keyboard in Windows 10 at the desktop or in applications, and want to turn it off (or on again), press Windows Key + Ctrl + O to toggle the keyboard on and off. I have tried restarting my MacBook but this keeps happening. There isn't a keyboard connected." I have left this window for as long as 15 minutes but nothing changes.
